Good Seed Nutrition accepts Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, First Health, MVP, and United HealthCare Insurance plans.  Most health insurance companies cover medical nutrition therapy pending medical necessity.

Verification of Insurance Eligibility and Benefits

For questions regarding your insurance coverage for nutrition counseling or to verify if I am in-network with your insurance plan, please start by calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card.  I am happy to provide you with a script to use when calling your insurance company to make sure there are no surprises when it comes to coverage, out-of-pocket costs (cost shares), visit limits, or my network status with your plan.  For more information regarding insurance coverage for nutrition services please get in touch.

Additionally, please be aware that you may need to obtain a referral from your primary care provider for nutrition counseling before your initial session, as it may be required for medical necessity purposes.

I am happy to walk you through any questions or concerns that you have regarding contacting your insurance company to determine your nutrition coverage.

Self Pay

If you don't qualify for medical necessity or have insurance coverage for nutrition counseling please reach out for more information on self-pay rates.  Payment is expected at the time of service.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Super Bills

Did you know that many individuals may have the opportunity to utilize their FSA or HSA funds to cover the expenses associated with nutrition counseling? It is your responsibility to verify your eligibility to utilize these funds.  I am pleased to offer the necessary documentation required for reimbursement through your FSA or HSA.

Please be aware that, prior to your initial session, you may be required to obtain a referral from your primary care provider for nutrition counseling to fulfill the prerequisites for using these funds.

Additionally, I am happy to provide a super bill if your FSA/HSA requires it or if I am not listed as an in-network provider with your insurance plan.  Payment for nutrition services is expected at the time of your service, and it is your responsibility to submit all relevant documentation to your insurance company for reimbursement purposes.  Please coordinate with your FSA/HSA administrator or insurance provider for reimbursement as I do not assume any responsibility in this regard.

Please get in touch if you have additional questions regarding self-pay or insurance options.
